My favourite dance TV-show

     Dancing is a part of my life, and I could say that it is no a small part.  That is why I choose topic about dance and I’d like to tell you about my favourite dance TV-show which ruined my common anderstanding about dancing.

      So You Think You Can Dance is a popular American dance competition aired on Fox in the United States. The show was first aired on July 20, 2005.  The show was the brainchild of American Idol’s Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe.   However, the show So You Think You Can Dance is very different from American Idol as it is a competition for dancers only. The show also showcases some unique works by cutting edge choreographers, which they especially choreograph for the dancers on the show.

      The contestants who compete in the show are from all over the USA, from unknown street dancers to winners of national championships. They make it to the show through a grueling audition process at the end of which 10 to 20 dancers (the number depends on the episode format of the season) compete with each other and dance their way to victory. They are asked to perform different dance styles and are assigned partners each week to test their versatility.

      There is no genre of dance for the dancers. From salsa, ballroom, hip hop, street dancing, contemporary, jazz, ballet, tap to many other modern dancing styles, dancers are encouraged to perform and compete to win the title of "America's Favorite Dancer" along with prizes as lucrative as a new Hybrid SUV, $100,000 in cash, and a dancing role in Celine Dion's Las Vegas show.

       The different versions of So You Think You Can Dance are broadcast in New Zealand, Ukraine, Turkey, Israel, Canada, Germany, Greece, Poland, Malaysia, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands, South Africa, United Kingdom, Australia and Portugal.

       Three choreographers from So You Think You Can Dance have landed Emmy nominations for Outstanding Choreography. And I'd like to show you their great performances:

      1. Tabitha and Napoleon D'Umo

                                   Were nominated for their performan "Bleeding love"



 2. Mia Michaels - was nominated for 5 emmys.

The are two performances which won Emmy Awards in category Outstanding Choreography:

"Gravity" 

"Koop Island Blues"

3. Nex choreographer who also won Emmy Awords is Wade Robson for his performance "The Chairman's Waltz"

         When I first watched  this show I didn’t know anything about such stile of dance as contemporary, jazz, modern-jazz. SYSYCD  showed me new stile of dance and also how to dance it. For me choreographers and winners of this show are  the examples of how it’s possible  to dance perfectly.

         I think that anyone who just loves the word "dance", just loves the show.
